Jessica & Tony
My Fiancé and I have been together for 6 years. We met at the young age of 20 and 21. We were introduced by our families; my mom is good friends with my Fiancé’s now stepmother.
We came to Benari’s back in October of 2014 and met with Tara. I had it in my mind that our engagement would be in the summer of 2015, because we just started looking for homes and were saving for that. However, after our wonderful meeting with Tara, my Fiancé was overjoyed and excited to start the next chapter of our lives together. So, on Christmas morning, there was a big wrapped box under the tree addressed to me. I unwrapped the box and inside was another wrapped box, and inside of that box was another wrapped box. Finally, inside the smallest wrapped box was a blank piece of paper.
At this time, my Fiancé started to explain that on this piece of paper we should write down our hopes and wishes for the upcoming year, and then place it in an ornament that we will keep on the tree. He then proceeded over to the tree and picked up a beautiful hand painted ornament. He informed me that the ornament opened, and that he already placed his wish inside. He then walked over to me, opened the ornament (which was playing Silent Night), and then he got down on one knee to ask for my hand in marriage! I was completely shocked, but of course I said yes! For the rest of the day, his motto was, “Why use mistletoe when you put a ring on it!”
