Bracelet Style Guide
BENARI JEWELERS Bracelet Style Guide
Bracelets are crafted in a wide range of designs from bold options to minimal pieces that are fit for any occasion. With a diverse array of bracelets to choose from, it can be difficult to understand the difference between each style. This bracelet style guide will explain each type of bracelet and the outfits they are most suited for.
Tennis bracelets are one of the most iconic bracelets on the market. Made famous during the 1987 U.S. Open when Chris Evert stopped a match to find her diamond bracelet, this style is the epitome of luxury and elegance. Ideal for formal events, tennis bracelets sit loosely on the wrist, allowing for it to move freely up and down the arm. They are composed of identically sized diamonds placed next to each other all around the bracelet.
Station bracelets are true chameleons, blending in with any personal aesthetic and event. Due to their versatile nature, station bracelets are a must-have in any jewelry collection. These bracelets are comprised of linked chains studded with either gemstones, diamonds, or pearls. The adornments are held in place either by bezel settings, which are full circle mounts, or half-bezel settings, which are small bars or half circles. This bracelet’s name is derived from these “stations” of gems placed throughout the style.
Bangle bracelets are inflexible pieces of metal made with no clasp. They slip over the hand and onto the wrist, where they freely move around. Create a whimsical style with bangles by stacking them together. A popular choice is to mix different colored thin bands together or wear a single bangle as a statement accessory. Bangles blend well with outfits suited for lunch dates or nights out on the town.
Similar to bangles, cuff bracelets are made of rigid metal, however, they have an opening on one side and fit more snuggly against the skin. Due to their design, they are easier to wear because there are no clasps to handle. Thicker cuffs make great statement pieces, while thinner cuffs are better suited for everyday wear. Some styles feature vivid gemstones bookending the cuff.
Chain Link Bracelets
Chain bracelets are crafted from metal links interlocking together to form a chain. Chains made from thick metal links are daring accessories while dainty, thin chains are more feminine and elegant. This style can be crafted from any type of metal, but the two most popular choices are gold and silver, thanks to their lustrous appearance, value, and durability. Because of the varying link sizes, chain bracelets can be seamlessly incorporated into any style to add a bit of sophistication to a look.
