Charitable Activities

Delaware County Community Foundation

The Delaware County Community Foundation exists to make possible multiple opportunities through active philanthropy. The goals of the DCCF is to put legacy giving – giving that continues across the generations – within reach of anyone who has a desire to give something back or perpetuate a favorite cause through their donation to an existing DCCF fund or in creating a fund of their own.

chester-county-futures

Chester County Futures, Inc. is a mentoring, academic and financial assistance program, starting in high school, for motivated, low-income students who wish to pursue a post-secondary education.

Gallagher Foundation

The Gallagher Foundation’s vision is to promote peace and prosperity through education. Our method of doing that is to provide college scholarships to very talented young people in selected developing countries. Education is a natural cause for us to support because we believe that well-educated leaders are the key to a successful future.

Great Guys Group

The Great Guy Group presents community programs to support wellness in our lives by creating fundraising events to provide funds to cancer patients and their families.

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross is where people mobilize to help their neighbors—across the street, across the country, and across the world—in emergencies. Each year, in communities large and small, victims of some 70,000 disasters turn to neighbors familiar and new—the more than half a million volunteers and 35,000 employees of the Red Cross. Through over 700 locally supported chapters, more than 15 million people gain the skills they need to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their homes, communities and world.

Jewelers for Children

As the industry’s charity, Jewelers for Children (JFC) is generously supported by those who create and sell fine jewelry and watches. Manufacturers, retail jewelers, trade associations, watch companies and those who provide professional services to the jewelry industry unite on behalf of children.

G.I. Phone Home

GI PHONE HOME aspires to become the lifeline connecting our soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines serving around the world to their loved ones. By purchasing phone cards for active service men and women as well as hospitalized veterans GI PHONE HOME creates a link for these heroes to connect with their family and friends waiting for them to come home. GI PHONE HOME is committed to pulling the support of the community as a whole to fill this desperate need by becoming a catalyst for action and a beacon for awareness. As long as these heroes fight for our freedoms GI PHONE HOME will work diligently with your help to remind these brave fighters that they are not alone.

The Philadelphia Polar Bear Plunge

The Philadelphia Polar Bear Plunge is organized entirely by volunteers, led by the sister and brother team of Rebecca Citrenbaum Perkins and Dan Citrenbaum. The Citrenbaums' mother, Estelle, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2000. Each year, event organizers hope to draw 1,000 members of the community to help "Stop Alzheimer’s Cold" with an annual winter-time plunge into the Schuylkill River. All proceeds from the event are presented to the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter.
